The United B-377 refers to the Boeing Model 377 Stratocruiser, a large, long-range airliner that was operated by United Airlines. The B-377 was developed in the 1940s and entered service in the early 1950s. It was a luxurious and technologically advanced aircraft for its time, capable of carrying a significant number of passengers and flying long distances.

The Stratocruiser featured a double-deck design, with a spacious cabin that could accommodate up to 100 passengers. It offered amenities such as a lower-deck lounge, sleeping berths, and even a honeymoon suite. The aircraft was powered by four piston engines and had a cruising speed of around 300 miles per hour (480 kilometers per hour).

The United B-377 played a significant role in the post-World War II era, providing a comfortable and elegant mode of air travel. However, with the advent of jet aircraft in the late 1950s and early 1960s, the Stratocruiser's era came to an end, as airlines transitioned to more efficient and faster jetliners.

It's worth noting that the B-377 designation may cause confusion, as it is sometimes used to refer to the Boeing B-377SG Super Guppy, a modified cargo aircraft based on the Stratocruiser. The Super Guppy was used for transporting oversized cargo, such as space shuttle components.
